Whee!
So, um. I'm Chillingworth. I go from being the Alpha Doppleganger in the Alpha Centauri game to the apparent leader of the Blackhearts here. I feel like Darth Sensitive now.
While I may be leader by color, though, my power is actually that of Doctor. My target will know they've been protected--in the morning, they will have "a slightly healed feeling." Having a scum doctor means there will be pro-town (and/or third party) killing roles.
This is going to be a fun game.

I was just a townie in the Werewolf Split game in the Dope. This is my first time being scum....and I'm loving it!!!! Anyway, what's the deal sirdirx? What does it mean that you are Chillingworth? And what exactly do you do as a doctor?

Mistriss Hibbins checking in. My Power, I can investigate someone each night (unless I'm the one doing the NK) I can investigate someone to see if they are pure or sinful. Let's remember though, that whether someone is pure or sinful can change from night to night if they prey (as I understand it).
Do we have any idea what the various wincons are yet?

Joey!! Wincons: The town wins when every player alive is Pure. The Blackhearts win when they control the vote. The Sinners win when every player has the Seed of Sin within them Mahaloth: Chillingworth is jus the name of the character I have. It's just color, really. Since it's publicly known to the rest of the players that he's a Blackheart, though, we kinda want to keep my identity a secret As a doctor, once per night, I can protect a player. That player will be immune to night-kills that night. It's very likely that there is a Vigilante, which is a town-aligned player that can kill each night (trying to find scum). So, my powers will help us against that. There may also be a Serial Killer (commonly abbreviated as SK), who's not aligned with any faction. They kill each night and have their own win condition (often surviving until the end, or some other deadline).

Can they put the seed of sin in a blackheart? I assume each night, rather then a NK, the sinners put the seed of sin in someone, what happens if they do it to one of us?
BTW, so far we have Joey P Dirx mahaloth

Meeko, if you're one of us, you need to pay better attention, if your not... Blackhearts, post #1.99 can be used to help build a case against him/her, it shows that he's skimming. I'm led to believe that skimming is a minor scum tell.

If it's just one of us, I wouldn't worry about it too much. They win when everyone has the seed of sin within them. We win if we control the vote (traditional scum win--outnumber everyone else), seed of sin or not. If it seems close to the Sinners winning, then any of us infected should probably pray to make sure they go back to being pure, preventing the Sinners' win. Your power will come in handy for that. Yeah, sin/pure will change throughout the game, but, say, if two or more of us are without sin, and you don't investigate anyone with sin, we can feel fairly safe that the Sinners aren't yet too close to winning.
Oh, and Mahaloth: any powers on your end at all, or are you regular scum? Feel free to quote your PM if you want. Here, the only restriction is that you can't post the timestamp.

Eh, he's an extreme newbie as I understand it. There will be other cases were skimming could be more telling--I think this one is just newbie confusion. He may have clicked the link to the half-game I played before--it had private voting--and gotten confused. We'll wait for him to explain, though. Don't want to throw him a rope right off the bat.

Ohhh, so if everyone has the seed of sin within them, the original sinners win? Is that the case?

Post by joeyp on Apr 28, 2009 20:14:52 GMT -5
No, I know. I'm just saying, if we do decide to build a case or do a WoW, it's just one point to bring up.

I should add that I only mentioned it because I got called on for skimming before when I mentioned that I was having a hard time keeping up with everything in the last game.

I am the Atheist, a Blackheart.
I have no particular power other than killing every night.
Sir, can you protect one of us every night?

hehehehee... *ahem* Sorry (honestly, if you hadn't been a mason, I so would have gunned for your lynch. Preying on newbies doesn't feel as bad you may expect) Back to the Sinners.. It's not just the original sinners that would win--any townie with the seed of sin becomes a Sinner. From pedescribe's explanation, the change of wincon applies only to Town: (bolding mine) So, yeah. We only win when we outnumber everyone else, but the Town players can change their wincon to align with the Sinners and try to win that way. Even if we manage to kill all the original Sinners, more Town players can become sinful (if there's an Execution), so the Sinner wincon won't die out easily.

Are there more of us unholy?

And yes, I think we can be "sinified".
I was told I am pure, though it does not affect my win condition.

My above post was in response to Joey.
Mahaloth: Yes, I can protect you guys, myself, or even a non-Blackheart if I really wanted to (couldn't hurt, to build credibility for a Town Doctor claim, just so long as we do it carefully and don't shoot ourselves in the foot doing so).

We don't know how many of us there are, no. I got no indication of who the other Blackhearts are in my PM. It's even possible that it's just us three (there are only 18 players to begin with, so I'd expect 3 or 4 scum). We'll see if anyone else shows up. I hope there's more; we can always use more.

So wait, what happens if someone puts the seed of sin in a blackheart, can they too chose to join the sinners, would they win with the sinners then?
Gah, this is confusing.

mahaloth, you're 'pure' does that just mean vanilla or is it something else, I thought the townies where the pure ones.

I have some ideas about who to kill on Night One, but I'm waiting to find out who is a Blackheart. I also have some insight into players, including Meeko, based on other experiences.
Uh, Meeko, if you are a Blackheart, get in here!

My PM read: Mahaloth You are The Atheist, a Blackheart. For years, you were not acecpted. In England, you were not accepted as you were not an anglican. In Boston, you were not accepted because you were not a Puritan. But the Blackhearts seem to accept you. The say that, once they destroy this village, they'll find you an accepting home. Powers: 1. You are a Blackheart. You can communicate with the other Blackhearts here: notsogenericscum.proboards.com/index.cgiusing the account: username: mahaloth password: thepassword 2. Each night, one of you can go out and kill. 3. Technically, you are Pure. Not that it matters for your win con, but still.

From what I understand, no, our wincon won't ever change. A Town player's wincon can, but we only win if we outnumber everyone, be us sinful or not. If any of us get infected, then all it means is that the Sinners are one player closer to winning. That's all.* (*Well, unless there are specific powers that work differently if the target is sinful/pure, but let's not get too confused too early )

You can see that my 3rd point in the PM said that I am pure and that it does not affect win con.
Does being sinified?

By the way, should we create separate threads for the different Days and Nights?

I'm betting Meeko is not scum. I'm also willing to bet that anyone who's posted in the game thread and not here is also not scum. What's your idea for Night 1? And here's what my PM says: You are Chillingworth, a Blackheart. As a indian-loving herbologist, you are obviously an evil demon trying to kill everyone. This place is as good as any. However, you are also a doctor. You can protect people, or kill them! Powers: 1. You are a Blackheart. You can communicate with the other Blackhearts here: notsogenericscum.proboards.com/index.cgi2. Each night, one of you can go out and kill. 3. Each night, if you aren't doing the kill, you can protect someone. The person will wake up with 'a slightly healed feeling'. Yeah, I snipped the login info. It's not relevant, and I don't like posting that stuff publicly, even if it's the same as yours. Good habit to have. I wasn't told if I was pure or not. I honestly have no idea. I'll assume pure, for now.

I agree that Meeko is most likely not scum.
I've gotten to know him fairly well lately and I am 100% positive he would have posted here by now. I will post more once we learn for sure about who is one of us.
