Day 5

Post by molefan1981 on Feb 24, 2009 15:49:51 GMT -5
Then do you keep harping on how much Peach is hated as a character? If you're really arguing the claim is, then just say that. Then edit the claim so it isn't bad. A whole cloth claim is just asking for trouble, ESPECIALLY when we know there's someone out there that gets to see discarded roles. Do you really want to make up a whole cloth claim, only to end up counter claimed by Pollux saying "You're lying. I got that role last Night, and here it is."? I'll say it again, KISS. Don't try and get cute when it isn't needed. Well you're definitely right about Pollux unfortunately. All right, what about having Punker as a half-power roleblocker? Again, I don't see anything wrong with having claimed to have caused KidV to "sleep". There's a special move in the game called "Peach Blossom" and Peach can also float. Princess Peach (Town Weak Roleblocker) Ever since you escaped from that nasty Bowser's castle (no thanks to that silly Mario) you've floated around looking for fun. You can stop your opponents cold with a quick parasol strike or a single flutter of those beautiful eyelashes. Plus, you bake a mean cake. Yay! 1. Your special abilities must be charged up. Each night that you take no night action adds a single charge. 2. You can easily float out of trouble if you so wish. On any single night you can avoid any hostile night actions directed at you, including nightkills. You must use one charge to perform this action. 3. You can use your Peach Blossom to send a single smasher to sleep for a night. This will cause that smasher to be unable to perform any night actions. You must use two charges to perform this night action.

OK, someone check that for moleisms. In particular, I can't remember if I've ever used the word "yay" before... perhaps better to replace that with something less resembling, well, me.

It's fine. I don't think roleclaims are going to make much of a difference at this point.

Post by crazypunker22 on Feb 24, 2009 17:19:14 GMT -5
how about this:
I claim Mole's PM. Someone suggests that the trophy gun still might be an extra nightkill and the regular one didn't go through because I made KidV sleep and he might be scum. I would be targeted the next night probably, but KidV would be gone by then and my poisoner role wouldn't hurt us as bad.

KidV would be gone if it works.
That would be safer than having Mole investigate me as town because then if I still died they would kill Molefan next.
It's up to you guys, but I have to post soon so let me know quickly. I will be claiming Mole's PM in about an hour if nobody tells me anything.

See, now that's the kind of plan I can get behind. It doesn't really hurt anyone else, and has a good upside. If KidV gets lynched Today there's a non-zero chance we can win the game outright overNight.

For me to claim that I have to say I didn't use any powers until I targeted KidV. Otherwise I wouldn't have enough charges.

Why? You charged Night 1, self protected Night 2, charged Night 3, blocked KidV Night 4(last Night). That works out fine.

Why? You charged Night 1, self protected Night 2, charged Night 3, blocked KidV Night 4(last Night). That works out fine. Actually it doesn't, but just change the PM to have Peach Blossom use one charge instead of two. Or - better idea - have Punker start the game with one charge during night 0, self-protect night 1, charge night 2 and night 3, and sleep KidV night 4.

Post by kat on Feb 24, 2009 20:32:25 GMT -5
Okay, how's this:
Dark Samus (Town Bus Driver)
On planet Aether, you had only one goal. Kill the one who was your impostor. It was the only thing that gave you any reason to exist. You cornered Samus Aran as Dark Aether was exploding, and was ready to kill her. Unfortunately, your plans went wildly off course. It's probably a good thing she and you were sucked into this gladiatorial combat sport, considering how the battle was going, though. Once here you couldn't make overt attacks without being restrained, and Master Hand was careful never to pair you and Samus up. You probably would have gone on a killing spree had Captain Falcon not taught you humanity and given you a steady supply of phazon. Using a bit of excess phazon, you have some influence in the form of the announcer. Each day, you can try to influence him to switch two of the player announcements. That way, anyone looking for the first player will find the second, and vice versa.
1. Every night, you attempt may switch 2 players. This switch has a 50% success rate. Anyone using an action on player X will hit player Y, and vice versa, unless they would hit themselves. In such an event, the action would go through successfully. 2. If you choose not to perform a switch, the excess phazon will cause you to begin developing Phazon Madness. For each Night skipped, you will have a 10% chance of randomly killing a player you have voted for, and a 10% chance of of dying yourself.

Comments? Suggestions? Modifications?
Should I change any of the wording?

The only thing I can think of is if Roxis decides to vig tonight and tells us who she is targeting then we will have to redirect her. If that happens they will think it's you. If that happens we probably already won anyways though, so I guess it doesn't matter.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Pollux has just made a HUGE mistake. Kat, would you mind helpfully drawing the town's attention to this? Pollux, don't forget, was the one who posted a rejected role in which it was stated that the mods were giving up the plan of a scummy doc. Now, with Hoopy and Roxis having both confirmed that I protected them, Pollux has decided to post a theory of my scumminess. After he very effectively proved himself (ok, based on false evidence, but still...) that I couldn't be. We ought to be able to make mincemeat of him for that one.

I can't see any problems with the colour, but I'm not so sure about the wisdom of claiming a town role-redirect. There's been a "confusion" claimed by Sinjin and Paul's hit Parzival, don't forget. Either of those look kinda scummy and could be credited to you (truthfully in one case). Is there any other power you can claim here? I'm trying to think of one... We've just used "roleblocker". Charle, Alex, any ideas? BTW, Peach, sorry for leaning on you a bit hard earlier on. I'm tough on ya because I love ya.
