Day 3!
Feb 11, 2009 13:55:34 GMT -5
Post by molefan1981 on Feb 11, 2009 13:55:34 GMT -5
And pikmin man. I wouldn't claim until the last second (at least twenty hours or so). We could use a speed lynch and attendant confusion if you get close. I think you are set. Right now, no lynch would be the best but no way can any of us proffer that suggestion. I think salad man is going to get some heat tomorrow. If it gets too bad go ahead and false claim. What's your false role again. Can you repost so we have some time to nit pick? I'll be honest... I don't see then picking me out of the crowd that much. I'll post my full roleclaim here before I claim. The crucial thing is, when to pull the trigger? Too early and we're taking out a scum (and, ok, one townie) unnecessarily. Too late and I could take crap for it. I'm sure as hell not going to do it today, why waste the opportunity to get another townie lynched? My instinct is to nightkill tonight and then, if nobody seems to have tracked me tomorrow, pull the trigger then. But I'll only do it if Nanook agrees to it then. Don't worry about my Nanook vote today - it shouldn't catch - but it'll make my actions later on look more plausible. BTW we should have a strategy in place for when I do claim, if that's what I'm going to do. Nanook, I kinda like the idea of you waiting a suspiciously long time and then claiming miller. Hopefully they'll think that the scum will have been deliberating on the best course of action to take, thereby meaning it's not been a planned move. As for the rest of you... the great thing is to make as many of us look as unsuspicious as possible. If any other scum get on the Nanook bandwagon before I expose him, it'll lead to suspicions of a setup if I'm subsequently exposed or if they are. Right now everyone's ignoring my case, which is just peachy by me. Let's keep it that way and not give me any serious credibility until I claim to have the investigation results to back it up. FTR we can pull this back at any time. Nightkill suggestions plz? Parzival is an obvious one, Roxis I don't think presents much of a threat right now, and Hoopy's on a false trail. I assume Broken / Paul will be dead, which doesn't leave too many options. Personally I'd go for TDPats and Parz (don't forget that thanks to my little purple dude, we have extra nightkill capabilities tonight.) Parz is the one person who has a confirmed role that could seriously harm us right now. Pollux is also a possibility but I think it likely he'll be protected by the "real" doc, assuming there is one. He might also be "watched". What do you guys think?

Day 3!

Post by molefan1981 on Feb 11, 2009 14:26:32 GMT -5
Captain Olimar (Town Minor Doc / Minor Cop / *******)
You were on a distant planet, excavating treasure. You were ready to head home, to finally relax after so much time treasure hunting. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. You were abducted by giant creatures, the smallest of which is about four times your size. None of them understand your language and none of them will take you back. Well, not anymore. Your trained Pikmin have made you a star among the smashers and a hot contender for the greatest treasure of all - the smasher cup. You'll do whatever you can to make sure nobody spoils things.
1. Every day and night, you will receive a Pikmin. This Pikmin will be red, yellow, blue, purple or white. You may only have six pikmin in play at any time. Note that when you pick your Pikmin for the night, it will be available for your orders that night. 2. Each night, you can also command any number of Pikmin to take an action. The actions are: --Investigation. Sending one Pikmin will get a character name. Two will tell you who targeted that player and who they targeted. Three will get a character name and target information. Four will get the alignment of the player (SCUM, Town, or third-party). Five will get the alignment and character name. Sending all six Pikmin will get their alignment, character name, who they targeted and who targeted them. White Pikmin count as two for this task. All Pikmin sent will die. --Hiding. You can send up to four Pikmin to dig a crevice for hiding yourself or any other smasher from nightkills. 1 Pikmin creates a 25% chance, 2 create a 50% chance, etc. However, because this would have them work well into the night, all but one will get eaten. Purple Pikmin count as 2 for this task. --Finding. ***********
** Parts omitted because they'd only help the scum.
My claimed night actions (again, assuming that I pull the trigger, which I only do if we're agreed on a strategy for this):
Received one red and one blue Pikmin on Day 1 and Night 1 respectively. Sent the red and blue Pikmin to protect Roxis. Only the red Pikmin returned.
Received one red and one purple Pikmin Day 2 and Night 2 respectively. Sent one red and one purple Pikmin to protect Hoopy. Once again the red Pikmin returned, leaving me with two red Pikmin.
Received one blue and one white Pikmin on Day 3 and Night 3. Sent three Pikmin - white, red and blue - to investigate Nanook. This produced his alignment, scum. I now have one red pikmin.
Day 4 and Night 4 - I protect myself. Not sure which Pikmin I'll claim to have received.

Ok, I'm thinking I should use the phrase "pick a Pikmin" but make it clear that I don't actually get to choose which Pikmin I receive. Weird terminology on the game's part then, not mine!

Ok I think it's time I threw my post restriction out there. Too many people checking and seeing that I'm logging in. For reference, my original PM.
I don't plan to claim now, just the role restriction, but I want to be prepared in case people keep pressing me. So far I have this.
I could claim to have killed Sinjin, but I'm not sure about that one. I can't claim the extra mason kill for obvious reasons.

Meh, thinking about it I don't like that power claim. Not a very town role. What else fits with a Ninja? Maybe cop/vig. Would fit with the post restriction+lover.

Post by molefan1981 on Feb 11, 2009 15:45:57 GMT -5
Charle, I don't know about generally, but every game I've played with "lovers" in on other boards, as well as one game here, has one scum and one townie paired up. If you claim that role, you'll be immediately shot to 1/2 chance of being scum.
I've been throwing some pretty harsh suspicion on you, with the final objective of bussing you to get some extra town cred and effectively a daykill of whoever Zelda is. The absolute last thing any of us wants to see is for you to get lynched today. For that reason, it might be a good idea to claim a role restriction. I'd strongly advise leaving out the "lover" part though.

My powers are ridiculously powerful. I would hold off on bussing me for as long as possible. That's not to say you shouldn't, because the lover thing+post restriction guarantees a short life span, just don't rush into it.
We've only had one pair of lovers that I know of on here and the dope game. Both were town.

Post by nanook on Feb 11, 2009 16:37:52 GMT -5
I have no intention of full claiming, just putting the posting restriction out there. I still want my role claim ready, just to be safe.
My problem with claiming vig is it doesn't fit with the restrictions. A powerful role gets tough restrictions. A vanilla power role generally doesn't. It might be better claiming straight, voluntary vig though.

Pikmin out for kill.
Charle/tabu kill.
Let's see who drinks.
Pikmin, your choice.
Charle just let us know whether you want to kill or have me trophify and then whomever. With input from the gang, of course.

If a glass is poisoned Night 3, and that person drinks Day 4, they'll be poisoned. But if they drink Day 3, and their glass is poisoned Night 3, it won't have an effect until they drink again.
